FAQ
What is this?
UIUCTF is an annual capture-the-flag (CTF) competition hosted by SIGPwny, the cybersecurity club at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
Each year has its own theme. This year, we were inspired by the Legend of Zelda franchise!
What is a CTF?
CTFs are cybersecurity competitions where teams solve hacking challenges to find a "flag," usually a specially formatted string. Flags can then be submitted to the competition platform for points. The more flags you capture, the more points you get!
Where do I sign up?
What is a "King of the Hill" challenge?
We use "King of the Hill" to refer generally to challenges where competitors are scored based on their performance on a task, rather than simply finding and submitting a fixed flag. Your score will be based on your performance relative to other competitors. You can continue to improve your strategy in the challenge over the competition.
